Well, last night was the St. Patrick's day party that I mentioned last time. Naturally, everyone and everything was green. (Back in Kindergarten again.) We attended for one reason..We had four out of town guests staying with us that we didn't know what to do with. Just like the many new beachchairs with the building's name on it that were literally tossed out because a neighboring building complained that it made the beach look like it belonged to a hotel. People are sqwaking because it was clearly a unilateral decision made impulsively to keep the peace. So that's one big brew-haa-haa. Another is the rental policy around here which allows people to rent their units by the day practically which ,of course, contributes to the hotel atmosphere we had even before the chairs. Oh yes, one out of the four elevators is working.
The ambulance came again this morning. It's a regular thing around here which is not surprising given that the average resident's age is tottering around 75.
I know I'm an absolute snot for complaining so much about Paradise but the atmosphere is boring and unhealthy. So why do I stay? Husband likes it better than I do although I think it's starting to get to him too. We have a house we go to for the other 6 months of the year. The house is in a neighborhood of young people which means the only thing we have to worry about is Brownies ringing the doorbell to sell cookies...and other small annoyances that go with an ungaited community. It's a hell of a lot closer to real life though.
